About Mom Corps LA

Mom Corps is a national staffing and search firm that specializes in connecting companies in need of on-demand employees with experienced professionals seeking flexible work. As the name suggests, Mom Corps was originally founded to serve women who left the workforce to raise families and wanted to return on a part-time or project basis or who were working full-time and were seeking access to greater flexibility; however, the need for flexibility has become universal, and we have found both men and individuals at different stages in their careers turning to Mom Corps for placement in contract, temporary, part-time, or full-time flexible positions.

The co-owners of Mom Corps LA Kate Pletcher and Julie Lacouture met in 2005 while they were MBA students at UCLA Anderson School of Management.  Kate went on to serve as Director of Global Brand Licensing for Skechers USA, while Julie developed cause marketing partnerships to benefit public schools at DonorsChoose.org.  Both had the desire to be entrepreneurs, and they jumped at the chance to open Mom Corps LA. Kate and Julie are active members of a number of Los Angeles community organizations, serving on the Advisory Board of SPARK and PACE’s Women’s Business Center.  In addition to their MBAs from UCLA, Kate holds a BA in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin and Julie holds a dual BA in Advertising and Psychology from Syracuse University.
